Busy.
Distracted.
Overwhelmed.
There is no time to hang out and catch up with your friends. The calendar is packed, the to-do list is never ending and each day spent trying to stay afloat. The feeling of isolation starts to seep in and then something happens, one small thing sets the whole balancing act off kilter and everything just falls down around you.
Sounds a bit depressing, doesn’t it? Nevertheless, isn’t that how a lot of us are living?
I am preaching to the choir here. I am the first to be caught up in my own world and forget that other things are going on around me…not only in my life, but also in the lives of my friends.
Friends? Who has time for friends?
We have so much to do and so little time we say to ourselves and yet when all the plates fall to the ground and we end up sitting there all alone when what we really need is a friend. You know, the ones that we didn’t have time for when everything was running smoothly.
What is it about ourselves that thinks we can do this thing called life on our own?
Control.
Pride.
Self-Reliance.
