Ministry Minute ~ Connecting Across Ministries ~ Part 1 (plus Give away)

I'm doing some writing over at the Internet Cafe Devotions now and would love to have you stop over to the NEW Ministry Counter.

The Ministry Counter is a place to come with a cup of coffee and visit other women in ministry...women's, children's, married to a Pastor, you name it...if you are in ministry or married to the ministry, then this is a great place for you to sit back, relax and meet other incredible women in ministry.

Stop by the Ministry Counter every week for new devotions...there are some truly remarkable ladies there at the counter...I count it a HUGE honor to be partnered with each of them!

Connecting Across Ministries:
  • What does that look like?
  • What does that mean?
  • How do you even get started on something like that?
There are so many times when you spend your day (your life) in ministry that you get so caught up and focused on what your ministry is doing or even what your church is doing that you tend to forget that there are so many other people out there doing the same thing as you and sometimes even better.

For years it has been a part of my ministry philosophy to share, connect, and encourage others in ministry.  I like to meet with leaders from other churches or ministries and get to know them.  Figure out how we can mutually help each other, share ideas, dream together, and just have someone to talk with that totally “gets them”.

...Come on over to the Ministry Counter to find out more about Connecting Across Ministries.

Book Review ~ You Can Be Everything God Wants You to Be

God gave you a zone in which you were made to dwell.  He tailored the curves of your life to fit an empty space in his jigsaw puzzle. A sweet spot, if you will.  And life makes sweet sense when you find your spot.  But what pills you order, class do you take, or infomercial do you watch? None of the above.  Simple quarry...
YOUR UNIQUENESS.

Da Vinci painted one Mona Lisa.
Beethoven composed one Fifth Symphony.
And God made one version of you.  He custom designed you for a one-of-a-kind assignment.  You cannot be anything you want to be.  But you can be everything God wants you to be.

In this sweet little book from Max Lucado there are so many wonderful truths to grab hold of.  I am a firm believer that each and every one of us is here for our own unique purpose and when we grab hold of that truth, embrace it, and chase after what God created us to be we will truly be living our life in a passionate pursuit of Him.

Wow!!!

Can you think of anything more exciting?

This is such a fantastic book to have handy...for you, for your kids, for pretty much anyone and everyone around you.
I mean, really...who couldn't benefit from the encouragement this book holds in its 127 pages?

I loved this book and can't wait to pass it on to one of my friends and ministry partners so they can benefit from it too!

Godly Gals ~ Sharon Brobst

A Heart That Seeks God
By: Sharon Brobst

Recently God allowed circumstances in my life that would propel me to retreat and seek Him for two months. There were heart issues that needed to be addressed. If I can be honest, I was tired and not so sure I wanted to do the work that I knew was ahead of me. God was not surprised and as I sought Him He strengthened my spirit. He knew I would need this time with Him, a time of going deeper into His word.

I wanted God to reveal to me the truth of who I am, to hear His heart in the matter. I could have walked away and not dealt with my heart. I could have sunk into discouragement allowing myself to dwell on shame.

I chose to pursue God, because in every circumstance that God allows in my life I know He has a lesson for me to learn or impurities to refine. I choose to allow Him to search the depths of my heart because more than anything I want to be the woman God created me to be. You could say I often choose the narrow road. Its hard work, it’s painful, and it’s not something I particularly enjoy. But my greater desire is to be molded into the image of Christ.

The Lord revealed many things. Some were hard for me to face and yet when we humble ourselves before Him He is gentle, loving and full of grace. When we seek Him with our whole heart He will be found. God never exposes sin or wrong attitudes in order to shame, but to heal. God only has our good in mind.

God has a purpose for me and for you. Regardless of what I have done in the past, or what has been done to me, God desires to use me in His plan. I don’t understand it. I just know it’s true. In order for God to use me I must come to a place where I’m willing to allow a continual searching of my heart. I must be willing to seek God with my whole heart and be obedient to what He reveals.

God wanted me to allow Him to take the “all things” of my life and use them for His glory, no matter how bad I thought they were. God knew about all these things before the foundations of the world, every day of my life was recorded in His book before it came into being. He knows all about me and still chose to save me. Hallelujah!

In my time before God what truth did I see? I am a sinner, saved by grace. I am called unto good works according to His purposes. There is nothing I can do that will separate me from God or render me useless, NOTHING. I am a woman that God desires to use in His kingdom if only I will humble myself and allow Him access to all my heart, mind and soul.

It’s an ongoing process.

So when those times of searching the heart come will you humble yourself and allow God to have His way?

Will you choose to walk the narrow way that will lead to healing and wholeness?

Or will you just walk away and remain as you are?

Read 1Chron 28:9; Ps 34:10; Ps 119:1-2; Ps 139; Jer 29:11-13; Rom 8:28-30; Luke 24:13-24

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear sweet Sharon, your words always soothe my soul, thank you for allowing God to use you for His glory.  I am so blessed, scratch that, we are so blessed, from getting to know you!  Thank you!
Ladies, I don't know where you are, what's going on in your world, or what storms are brewing in your life, but I do know this, you are not alone and you have a purpose for your life.
Maybe one of those purposes is to share a little sliver of you life, ministry, writing with us here in Godly Gals.  I'd love to send you a copy of the submission guidelines to look at and pray over.  It doesn't mean you have to write anything...it's just the first step.
Email me at melsworldministry {at} gmail {dot} com for more information!  Until then, be blessed and come back next week for a peek into Godly Gal Karen Hammons heart.
