Lyrics to Who is this God

All the way down, all the way down to where I fell
I stare at the ground, blood that I have spilled
But just to feed me you bend all the way down
All the way down to where I fell

Who is this God that loves me still?
This love that keeps me safe when I run
Safe when I’m young and foolish

Out of the dark, out of the dark that hides my face
I’m coming apart when you say my name
With ties of love you lead me out of the dark
Out of the dark that hides my face

Who is this God that loves me still?
This love that heals me when I am bound
When I am found and humble

With love you lead me
You bend to feed me
Taught me to walk
It was you all along

Who is this God that loves me still?
This love that finds me when I am lost
Although it cost you everything

Godly Gals ~ Theresa Trotter

Struggling With Forgiveness
By: Theresa Trotter

Have you ever struggled with Forgiveness?

Have you ever wondered how come it is harder to forgive others sin against us than it is for God to forgive our sins against him?

Am I the only one that has at one time or another been stuck on the hamster wheel of holding someone’s sins over their heads?

Unable to forgive them for an action that hurt me?

What about when you love the person and they hurt you? Break your trust? Use you?

How easy is it to just turn the other cheek and say “I forgive you”?

What is Forgiveness? What is the true definition of it?

Forgiveness is……
1. To excuse for a fault or an offense; pardon.
2. To renounce anger or resentment against.

It took me a long time to really understand the depth of walking away from hurt.  That the more unforgiveness I carried around, the only one I was hurting was myself.   I was stealing time from the Lord who wanted to work in my life. I was missing my blessings because I was stuck in unforgiveness.

One day I woke up and it was like God was sitting on the end of my bed.  He was begging me to let him heal me. He told me to seek him first to heal my pain and unforgiveness.  At that moment I realized that I wanted the life he promised. I realized that I could forgive the people from my past.  God didn’t say that I had to renew those relationships.  He just asked me to give the pain and unforgiveness to Him.  To forgive them so that He could give me the life he wants for me, for my family.

As I sit here today I reflect back on the things that have caused me the most pain.  I have made a choice.  I have chosen not to be a victim of my past. I choose to be a Princess of my Divine Father! I am reconciled, loved, forgiven and most of all His child. My Heavenly Father Loves ME!

Guess what…..He loves all of you too!

Please don’t let unforgiveness burden you, Give forgiveness freely and live in JOY!

Oh, what a joy for those
whose disobedience is forgiven,
Whose sins are put out of sight.
Yes, what a joy for those
whose record the Lord has cleared of sin. – Romans 4:7-8

A Little Bit About Theresa:
I live in California with my Husband and 2 Children.  I am in my 40’s and I have been enjoying it.  My children are teenagers.   I am looking forward to them moving out and us all creating adult friendships.  I was raised knowing Jesus.  I raised hell as a teenager when I walked away from Jesus.  He was still with me, protecting me, caring for me and asking me to come back during that time.  I finally started to listen at the age of 25 when I rededicated my life to him.  God’s Love and Peace are the Greatest Gift in the World.

Wordless Wednesday ~ Learning to Drive

This is my oldest son learning to drive...

This is me (and my youngest son in the back) when my oldest drives...

Need I say more?

For more Wordless Wednesday photos head on over to 5 Minutes for Mom!

PS - In his defense, he really isn't a "bad" driver at all, he's actually quite good, but nonetheless it is STILL nerve wrecking!

Round and Round She Goes...

...Where she stops, nobody knows!

Do you remember saying that as a kid?

I sure do!

Never did I think that at any point in my life that would be a pretty accurate description of my adult life.

Not kidding.

Ok, maybe a little!

I don't know about you but it certainly seems like this year has had me on the Tilt-A-Whirl (you remember those from the carnivals, right? They were my favorite!).  Thankfully, even though my world keeps spinning and spinning, I am able to grasp onto Him and be centered on what's really important.

Faith.

Family.

Friends.

I pray that even if you feel like you are stuck on the tilt-a-whirl these days that you will grab hold of the one thing that can actually bring you peace...Him!

For me, I am clinging, clutching, and grasping at the hem of His robe.  It's not been easy, and it has certainly been bumpy at times, but I know that there is a plan a purpose to it all.  So I try to smile and CHOOSE to seek the JOY on this Journey!

Now it's your turn...
What are you choosing to seek the JOY on your journey right now?
