Book Review ~ Fearless by Max Lucado

FEARLESS by Max Lucado

"Can you imagine your life without fear?"

From the minute I heard about this book I just knew that I *HAD* to have it. I guess the topic (Fear) is something that resonates deeply with a lot of us, so when Thomas Nelson offered to let me have an advanced copy to read and do a review on I jumped on it faster than a speeding bullet. (ha!)

On the back cover it says this...
"Imagine your life, wholly untouched by angst. What if faith, not fear, was your default reaction to threats? If you could hover a fear magnet over your heart and extract every last shaving of dread, insecurity, or doubt, what would remain? Envision the day when you can trust more and fear less."

I don't know about you, but I want that so badly. I want to walk boldly wherever God leads me, but unfortunately I trip and fall over my own fears more often that I would care to count. What I absolutely LOVE about this book is that it doesn't just cover one area where fear grips us, but it tackles each and every area that fear creeps into our lives.

The chapters cover the FEARS of; not mattering, of disappointing God, of not protecting my kids (that one made me weep in my truck as I read it while waiting in car line), of overwhelming challenges, of worst-case scenarios, of violence, of the coming winter, of life's final moments, of what's next, and that God is not real.

Just about everything you have ever struggled with is addressed with love and grace in such a way that you feel like you are sitting down having a cup of coffee with a friend who truly wants to see you live without FEAR.

Run, don't walk, to the nearest Christian book store and pick this book up, your life will be blessed because of it and hopefully you walk away with a lot less fear in your life.
