Sweet Times in Sanibel

Well, I twittered (if you need to know about TWITTER check out this post) on and on ALL weekend about this cute little cottage resort we stayed at this weekend for the Holiday, so I figured it would be a GREAT idea to walk you through part of our weekend.

Welcome to Shell Island Beach Club on Sanibel Island, FL
When you walk into the front door this is what you see.

Walking into the living room I was instantly blown away from the charm of the place.

Check out the vaulted ceilings, sun roofs, and timbered ceilings...too stinkin' cute!

By the front door you could sit in the little breakfast nook. There were many UNO and Scrabble games played there.

Believe it or not, we like to cook on vacation (breakfast and lunch)...it saves money!

In the hall by the kids bathroom...too cute hanging the chairs up like that!

The kids room (please excuse the mess already).

The Master Bedroom (with all of our luggage and stuff).

The view from the terrace overlooks the pool...out farther you can see a guy Kite Surfing in the Gulf (yep, I said the gulf...the same gulf that Hurricane Gustav was in).

I wish I had a better picture of the front, but this was the best I could do in a moving car.

The kids coming back in from the beach.

Saturday night, after all the rain and storms we decided to get out for a bit so we headed down to the jetty to take some pics of the kids (aren't they handsome?).

Hubby and boys went on a morning walk to watch the sunset...we were right down the street from the Lighthouse, pretty neat, huh?

Here's the early morning sunrise...simply beautiful! Isn't God just amazingly creative?

Well, there you have it! You have now officially gone on vacation with us to Sanibel! If you are ever on the West Coast of South Florida you really should go over there...it is like stepping back in time to the 1950's or so. Still, quaint, sweet, and special...it's our favorite place to go to "get away from it all".

Glad to be home, but also missing Sanibel,
Melissa
