Run the Race!!!!

I am SO EXCITED!!! Last night we had our IMPACT meeting and I have got to tell you that there are very few things that get me as pumped up as getting with my team and spending some time encouraging them! It was AWESOME!!!

We had about 75 people show up (not bad, eh?) and we went through the verse of 1 Corinthians 9:24, Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.

We talked about how you have to 1) Get in the Race! and how that means you have to actually decide to get off the sidelines and get involved in something that is bigger that you and I. We then told them that the next thing they have to do is 2) Lace them Up!. That means they need the P3 philosophy (we created that in Preschool Ministry!!! Go Team!) which is P - Prayer, P - Prepare, and P - Partner. After that we talked about having to 3) Stick with It! even in the face of distractions. That one was tough because everyone is distracted by something...even Nehemiah said you can be distracted by "good" things but to watch out and wait for the "great" things. This is good...then we told them that they need to 4) Run with a Team!! Yep...the old "invest and invite" approach that North Point Community Church has perfected. I asked them to write down the names of three people that they could personally invite to join them in ministry to the kids at FRC. Then we told them that they actually have to 5) Finish the Race!. I love the verse in Acts 20:24 says, “However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me – the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.”

Oh, it was a great night! If you made it...THANKS for being there...if you didn't...try to make the next one, I promise you it will be worth your time...really, really! For those of you who serve with me at Flamingo Road guys ROCK! I couldn't be more blessed than to be able to "do life" with each and every one of you.

We had 371 last weekend in the Preschool Ministry...before the end of the year we will hit 450 in one weekend, I just KNOW it!!! Will you be there with me as we celebrate how God is moving mountains in the lives of the Preschoolers on the corner of Flamingo and Stirling?
